Staples golf stays perfectVarsity - 2010 Season Posted Thursday, May 06, 2010 by Norwalk Hour Senior Dylan Murray shot a 2-under 34 to lead the undefeated Staples golf team to a 144-158 victory over Trinity Catholic Wednesday at Sterling Farms in Stamford.
It was the lowest score of the season for Staples, which is now 7-0 overall this season and 25-0 in the regular season over the past two years. The Wreckers did it with junior Conor Mahoney firing an even-par 36 in his fourth varsity start and sophomore Sam Shaffer shooting a 1-over 37 in his third varsity start. "We've been moving four kids in and out of the lineup," Staples head coach Tom Owen said. "I've been trying to get someone to put up numbers, and these two did it today." Sophomore Austin Alianiello also shot a 37 for Staples. Steve Custardo led Trinity (4-3) with a 36. ![]() |
